Brief Description / Introduction
Ali Kabir Shah is an internationally recognized as one of Pakistan’s leading corporate lawyers with a particular focus on Intellectual Property Rights, Media, and Technology. He has advised major business groups, Fortune 500 companies, multilateral organizations and trade associations on a range of commercial and IP matters; and has been part of advisory and legislative consultation groups before various government bodies.
In addition to his work in Pakistan, Ali has been actively involved with international associations in the field of IP – he has been a former Counsellor and International Vice President of the Asian Patent Attorneys’ Association (Tokyo, Japan), a member of the Unfair Competition Committee of the International Trademarks Association (Washington D.C.) and a member of the IP Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
He is a co-author of the IP Guide published by the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI), author of the Pakistan Chapters on Trademarks and Patents published by Lexology (Lexis Nexis); and his articles on IP, Media and Cyber laws have been published in international publications including Asia IP (Hong Kong), Media Law International (London) and Managing IP (London).
Ali was chosen as a delegate by the US State Department to participate in the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) on the Rule of Law in Pakistan.
