Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) Reaffirms Jurisdiction in Anti-Competitive Practices in a case successfully represented by Ali & Associates on behalf of Ismail Industries Limited
ISLAMABAD: The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) in its latest order, relying upon a Supreme Court Decision (K&Ns vs Dawn Foods) has held that it possesses jurisdiction over matters pertaining to unauthorized/deceptive use of brands and packaging and that these acts fall under Deceptive Marketing Practices, which are prohibited under the Section 10(d) of the Competition Act, 2010.
Ali & Associates successfully represented Ismail Industries Limited, the largest confectionery manufacturer in Pakistan before the CCP in the case.
Following this jurisdictional ruling, the CCP will proceed with hearings on the substantive merits of the case.
