Ali & Associates hosted a workshop on the newly established Geographical Indications (G.I) system in Pakistan, at its Karachi office.
The workshop focused on the intricacies of G.I and its current state in Pakistan (G.I Act and Rules, 2020), which defines how to register for G.I. Moreover, an explanation was presented on how to register a G.I abroad and how foreign G.I are registered in Pakistan. The workshop concluded with an analysis of the social and economic advantages to the country for having G.I protected products along with the administrative challenges involved with it.
